Like a lot of people on here,I only started posting relatively recently and for the most part have enjoyed the banter.

I was however really dismayed last weekend (and subsequently)to have been accused of being stupid and a racist by Ascot Jack.

In spite of asking him to be very careful regarding his accusations and the impact that this could have on people,he continued to castigate me.

In my defence I can say hand on heart that I hold no racist views whatsoever, irrespective of how AJ wants to phrase his arguments, and I really resent his inference. He doesn't know me,or my background,or my origins, and maybe if he did he would have thought twice (and perhaps have been very surprised),but there you are.

Anyway,I wanted to defend myself a bit before I retreat back to the shadows,as a lot of us have done.

Call it oversensitive, but I really do believe you have to be very careful how you label people that you dont know or have no knowledge of,and sorry for having an opinion on a subject where the issue of race was honestly the last thing on my mind.

Will continue to view the postings on here, but have had my fingers burnt a bit,so will do it as a viewer rather than a contributor.

Looking forward to cheering on the team from my seat in the East Stand, irrespective of race, colour, creed, nationality or anything else that could be twisted into a racist argument Ascot Jack.

[news.bbc.co.uk]

today is a big day in the history of not just swansea, but the football team of swansea. Since 40 years ago today, it was announced that Swansea was to become a city.. and with that, Swansea City FC would be born out of the old Swansea Town.

Rumours tend to focus on players people know about rather than unknowns...

Lee Trundle? he cant get into the Bristol City side. He'll go to one of our reject sides... i expect he'll end up at Northampton alongside Bayo.

We are in the market to buy players of quality now, rather than scrabble about on gambles. Thats Martinez's final hurrah for us giving us a realistic budget to work with.

With 7 subs next season, we have no excuse not to have a decent keeper on the bench. So another keeper is a must.. maybe Paulo should consider someone like Mart Poom who could be player goalkeeping coach? that would be a perfect balance between need and use.

But a Jordi Lopez/Ferrie Bodde centre midfield partnership could be dynamite. With Leon on the right, Dyer on the left, and Joe floating in the middle.. or a simple 4-4-2. One thing is for sure, someone in midfield is going to warm the bench.

Dont be so sensitive sticks & stones & all that

There just seemed to be a lot of repetitive posts on the same subject.

Was hoping to read about the signing of a new player strong rumours about Lee Trundle coming back. Personally I think it would be a backward step.

Hi All -
not been on a couple of weeks.
Read the posts - isnt it great Sousa has joined?

Was impressed by the passion a few weeks ago re: the Martinez debacle

Passionate Swans loving fans expressing their views. Felt proud - whatever the viewpoint - they cared.

I come back and see bitchiness and drivel.

Stories about lots of dads and Jeremy Kyle.

Those who are posting that nonsense please leave - Dai can they be banned?

This site is about the club we love - Swansea City - not about your personal aggrandisment. (spelling?)

Let's keep it football please.

Me - ridicously confident of 3 points at Leicester

Bring it on.

Am I the only person on here who's paranoid to post incase the know it alls and people who always seem in a bad mood reply by critisizing me and name calling?

I may feel like posting but then decide not to because it doesn't seem worth it.

Is it a coincidence there seems these people who just enjoy to attack posters, with the only real outcome being that they stop them from posting again.

I can't see this board changing but I think it could be a lot better without the personal attacks.

Just my opinion, but am I the only one or maybe there are lurkers who decide against posting because it don't seem worth it?

i have heard that wigan are preparing a combined fee of 9million pound bid for scotland, rangel and bodde with the fee for bodde being set at 1 million so we only have to give den haag 500k. which would soften the blow somewhat

Am I the only one on here mystified as to how long things take to post on here??? Posted a message (non-libellous, etc) at 10:46 this am. and still not on???

(The reason your post from 10.46 isn't up is because there is no record of a post coming from you at 10.46- libellous or otherwise. The reason it takes so long is that you don't post as a member, and Dai, myself, and the other mods have day jobs (and a home life) where we're not in a position to constantly monitor posts.

Try joining up and you'll be able to post in real time- Andy)

I'm not claiming CSA allowance off any dads. Who said I was a single parent anyway??? You've even agreed with my husband before now, however, being a man he is of course much more worthy of your respect.

Jamie

Of course it would help us roll eyes (sarcastic)

If he played as well as he did last season (before the injury obviously) then weve got a premership class player in our team that not only puts in fantastic performances but also scores goals from midfield. In addition to this, if he does play that well then we would have no problems in getting the 5m that we want for him - win / win really

My reading of the report of the meetings between Bodde, Sousa and Jenkins is they want Bodde to stay to prove his fitness. They'd argue that if he does that, he'll have more clubs than just Bolton looking at him in January, which would improve his position overall. It would also improve our chances, of course, of getting closer to £5m.

Obviously it's a bit of a gamble, but they must feel the chances of him not making a full recovery, or breaking down again, are very slim. As I said previously, I'd rather have him in our side if Sousa believes he can get a good performance from him.
